Alfie - Solar Systems and FIT Credits Update - May 2025

Important Information Regarding Solar Systems and FIT Credits

Dear Alfie Residents,

We are writing to you with an important update regarding the solar systems and Feed-in Tariff (FIT) credits for your Alfie home.

Our team is advised that some residents are missing solar compliance certificates that were provided at handover. As we do not hold this information on file, Development Victoria is currently working with its partners to provide these to Origin Energy on your behalf to enable Origin to allocate FIT credits. If you are contacting Origin directly, please let them know that you are part of the embedded network at 430 Blackshaws Road, and not a standard residential customer.

To get the most value from your solar system, it's more cost-effective to use the power it generates, not rely on FIT credits.

For use of the solar, if you are still experiencing issues, please reply to this email. When doing so, be sure to include the following information:
*Your address and lot number
*A clear description of the issue
*A reference to the relevant section/error code in the manual
*Any supporting photos

By way of assistance, we have included below manuals for the solar PV systems (your inverter will have the model noted):

Alfie Stage 1 UM_202010_SG2-8K G2 Premium User Manual_V1.5

Alfie Stage 2 & 3 Chromagen GW_ES_User Manual-EN

Alfie Stage 2 & 3 Chromagen GW_EM_User Manual-EN

Also included below are links for an updated app that is available for Stages 2 & 3. For Stage 1, there is a QR code on the inverter with the link.

Stage 2 & 3 - Google Play Store

Stage 2 & 3 - Apple App Store

Development Victoria will also upload this correspondence to the Alfie Connect Portal for future access.

Please Note: If there are power surges, or other factors, Powercor may temporarily shut down the solar systems as a safety measure. This is a normal part of how the system operates and is not cause for concern. It is applicable to any PV systems that are attached to their grid system, and not limited to Alfie.

If you have a tenant or know of any new owners, we kindly ask that you ensure this information is forwarded accordingly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Kind Regards,
The Alfie Team

UPDATE - 2nd June 2021

Pre-settlement inspections will now be taking place on the dates listed below.  To re-book your pre-settlement inspection, please contact Ewan Hutchinson (RPM Real Estate) on 0487 888 860. This will help to ensure that appropriate access to your townhome can be arranged:

Should any updates be received on the extension of the current period of restrictions, we will be in touch again to provide further information, including instructions for any re-scheduling of inspection dates that may be necessary.

UPDATE - 31st May 2021

Due to the current ‘circuit breaker’ restrictions announced by the Victorian Government to slow the spread of COVID-19, we regret to advise that all pre-settlement inspections that were booked in for Thursday 3 June 2021 will need to be rescheduled.  Any inspections that are booked for Friday 4 June will still be going ahead as scheduled at this stage.

Pre-settlement inspections will now be taking place on the dates listed below.  To re-book your pre-settlement inspection, please contact Ewan Hutchinson (RPM Real Estate) on 0487 888 860. This will help to ensure that appropriate access to your townhome can be arranged:

UPDATE - 26th May 2021

Following our previous communication in early May, we would like to provide a further update regarding completion of your Alfie townhome.

The timeframes previously advised have needed to be slightly adjusted, however as the works on your new townhome are nearing completion, we are able to provide key dates for both your pre-settlement inspection and the final settlement date.

The revised timeframes are outlined below:

  • Pre-settlement inspectionThursday 4th and Friday 5th June 2021
  • SettlementWeek commencing Monday 21st June 2021

We do apologise for the need to further adjust completion timeframes. This has been due to a range of factors outside Development Victoria's control, including recent poor weather delaying completion of final external works. Supply-chain issues continue to be disrupted from the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and sub-contract trade resources are in high demand. This demand is a result of a large number of various home and builder grants being offered creating a significant increase in residential construction activity.

To book in a pre-settlement inspection on one of the dates noted above, please contact Ewan Hutchinson (RPM Real Estate) on 0487 888 860. This will help to ensure that appropriate access to your townhome can be arranged.

Please note these dates may need to be reviewed over the coming days, should further government restrictions be announced in relation to the latest COVID-19 cases confirmed within the metro Melbourne area.

Should you require any information around the process leading up to settlement of your townhome, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email alfiesettlements@rpmrealestate.com.au
